Committees

We are an educational organization that embraces the democratic spirit of learning by doing.  By volunteering with any of our committees, not only do you put yourself in a position to become a future officer, you also empower yourself by developing skills crucial for any future campaign you choose to become involved with.  Any campaign will need to put on events (Social), organize volunteers (Membership), raise funds (Finance), get its message out (Communications), and develop a platform designed to fit the desires of local voters (Issues).  We currently have openings on the Social Committee and Finance Committee.

Social Committee
The Social Committee is key for us being an active organization.  In the social committee you help setup events for the club.  This includes activities such as reserving tables at venues, organizing picnics, and planning fun activities.  Reach out to bridget @ sfyr.io to get involved with the Social Committee.

Finance & Fundraising Committee
Top tier events cost money.  So do the nuts and bolts of maintaining websites, e-mail infrastructure, and other essentials.  Dues partly cover this, but more funds ensure we can do bigger things.  On the Finance Committee you help develop annual budgets, write fundraising letters, and contact donors.  Reach out to alice @ sfyr.io to get involved with the Finance Committee.
